Simple Steps to Look Chic While You Travel

You want to feel comfortable on the plane. Who doesn't? But you want to look good as well. Unfortunately, those two rarely mix. Usually you find yourself hustling through the airport with a sheen of sweat adding more glow than you want, a bag that feels like you're shouldering a baby grand and hair flying away. And then, convinced that looking good at the gates is impossible you spot a post-security goddess: Louis Vuitton bag, sleek ponytail, perfect makeup, slouchy boots over slim denim and perfect jewelery. Here is how she does it:

We've have written about Gweyneth Paltrow's inspired jewelry layering skills before and when she was seen at the Los Angeles airport wearing our Tahitian and South Sea Lariat on Leather we knew she was the perfect model for this blog entry.

Step One: Use Gwyneth as a guide and ditch the gym gear. Start with a comfortable pair of slimming jeans. Remember, not too tight. You want to be comfortable no matter how long the flight.

Step Two: Add on a stylish tee or a tunic if boho is your style. The important thing is to keep it chic. One of our personal favorites is the boyfriend tee, an extra long fitted style. It has great shape and covers the trouble spots too!

Step Three: Accessorize! The right jewelery can help elevate any outfit. For an easy Hollywood look go with Fringe Hoop earrings; filled with 14 karat gold pieces and finished with black suede. If necklaces are your go-to pieces we suggest the 14 karat gold filled leatheret in cognac. It adds a splash of color and looks great with jeans and a t-shirt.

Step Four: Don't carry on too much. Take a great handbag plus something small and manageable for your magazines, iPad, or even old fashioned paperbacks. The less weight the more comfort.

Safe travels!

Can You Mix Gold and Silver? Yes! And You Should!

Forget the antiquated rules about gold and silver. The days of your mother's Good Housekeeping guides to fashion are a thing of the past. We're here to tell you that modern style dictates that gold and silver can and should be mixed. In fact many prominent designers are creating mixed-metal pieces as part of their latest lines.

Bangles are a great way to experiment with mixed metals. Hilary Scott, co-lead singer of Lady Antebellum did just that using our Studded Bangle Set. Once you have a bangle-base play around with different styles and genres. Mix it up; vintage, contemporary, boho or beautiful and beachy like Pamé Fresh Water Pearl Wraps.

Looking for inspiration? Look no further than the pages of your favorite magazines. All of us here are guilty of ripping pages out of nail salon magazines when we find ourselves starstruck by great accessories. And of course we are constantly amazed by how celebrities use Pame pieces to compliment their stylish coutour. Take a look at our Shop by Celebrity section, you might just find an idea worth "borrowing."

Speaking of bangles. Speaking of celebrities. Speaking of Pame pieces. Did you see what E! News host Giuliana Rancic did with our Gold 60 Wave Necklace-Bracelet? She wrapped it around her wrist multiple times to achieve a bangle look. Needless to say you can do this with a necklace you already have--gold, silver or both!

Make Jewelry Part of Your Workout Gear

A treadmill isn't a catwalk but that doesn't mean you can't look great while sweating off those extra calories. You picked out the perfect workout outfit, so why not make it a little more perfect by adding great accessories? Here is how to pull off gym chic:

Earrings:
You're looking for studs. Stud earrings are chic and classic and more importantly they won't get caught on anything or distract you by jangling around. If you want to make more of a show our Smokey Quartz Crystal Pave Hoops are light on sway and high on seductiveness.

Bracelets:
Wrap bracelets are the way to go. They have a snug fit allowing you to move and stretch free from skin iterating slippage. Our leatheret wrap bracelets may be just what you need to glam up your exercise routine.

Necklaces:
Plain chain and pendant necklaces are ideal exercise accessories. Stay away from long dangling pieces, the closer to your neckline the better. As an example if you do the plank position in Pilates you pendant shouldn't hang more than an inch or two from your neck. Consider our Marcasite Circle & Black Leather Necklace or Oblong Pave Nugget Necklace.

Rings:
Keep it simple. Stay away from clunky and instead wear smooth bands such as our Pelota Stackable Rings.

Final Suggestions:
Check the care instructions on your jewelry carefully. Moisture can be damaging to many types of accessories. If you're a swimmer stay away from gold and precious gemstones the chlorine can be a killer.

Chic Style Inspired by Sunken Treasure

There is a story behind all of our pieces. And we truly believe that all of our pieces will become a treasured part of your stylish jewelry collection. That said, no other piece in our collection has a backstory to match The Shipwreck Coin Replica.

This beautiful necklace combines a coin with a leather choker. It features pewter with sterling silver and 14kt gold-plate accents. It was inspired by sunken treasure found on the Santa Maria De La Consolacion. And the story of its watery demise is the stuff of adventure novels and summer blockbusters.

In 1681 the Santa Maria De La Consolacion set sail from Peru, against the wishes of her Captain and crew. They knew the waters were crawling with pirates. They knew their chances of reaching Panama and joining the Spanish armada were slim. Of the all the pirates the man they featured most was English buccaneer Captain Bartholomew Sharpe.

Sharpe found the Santa Maria De La Consolation and was determined to strip it of the treasure it held; gold, silver and precious gems mined in Peru. Sharpe gave chase with the aid of many ships but the Santa Maria was faster. She out ran the pirates and off the coast of Santa Clara island the crew set her ablaze determined to keep the treasure out of the pirates hands.

Robbed of their loot the pirates murdered everyone aboard, an attack so bloody that to this day Santa Clara island is known as La Isla de Muerte: island of death.

How could you not feel brave and adventurous wearing something with so much history? And its versatile too. You can pair it with everything from sophisticated chic to boho style.
