Boho Style on a Budget

There is a unique skill in being able to look like a page out of the glossies on spare change and creative style alone. We all have a friend that makes this skill seem effortless. They use thrift stores and clearance racks to look jealousy inducing chic. Jewelry is an underrated way to create a high-end boho look without spending a paycheck or more. With that in mind here are some boho on a budget style tips:

1. Pick a base style: Whether you lean toward Rachel Zoe's chic boho style with chunky necklaces and cuffs or Gwyneth Paltrow's more subtle layering of delicate pieces it is important to know what you like and what works on you.

2. Start with a signature piece: Add on to your style base with a key piece of jewelry that locks in your chosen look. It may be simple stud earrings or a brazen necklace. No matter which direction you chose our Jewelry Under $100 category is an excellent place to start!

3. Know where to make an impact: If you're looking to emphasize your face consider oversize hoops, if decolletage is more your focus you may want to go with our Oblong Pave Nugget that Brooklyn Decker beautifully showcased in Women's Health magazine.

4. Don't forget your closet: Every closet has buried treasure, especially when opened and rummaged through with inspired eyes. Look to emulate what you've seen, mix vintage and contemporary to create something new.

5. Strut!: Being bold with jewelry is a start but to have true flare you'll have to strut your stuff. Don't get attention, demand it! And don't be afraid to bump your comfort level a notch or two. If you're a single gold chain girl, layer on two or three additional necklaces. Add a few bracelets to your watch wrist, it won't change the time but it will change your style.

Simple Steps to Look Chic While You Travel

You want to feel comfortable on the plane. Who doesn't? But you want to look good as well. Unfortunately, those two rarely mix. Usually you find yourself hustling through the airport with a sheen of sweat adding more glow than you want, a bag that feels like you're shouldering a baby grand and hair flying away. And then, convinced that looking good at the gates is impossible you spot a post-security goddess: Louis Vuitton bag, sleek ponytail, perfect makeup, slouchy boots over slim denim and perfect jewelery. Here is how she does it:

We've have written about Gweyneth Paltrow's inspired jewelry layering skills before and when she was seen at the Los Angeles airport wearing our Tahitian and South Sea Lariat on Leather we knew she was the perfect model for this blog entry.

Step One: Use Gwyneth as a guide and ditch the gym gear. Start with a comfortable pair of slimming jeans. Remember, not too tight. You want to be comfortable no matter how long the flight.

Step Two: Add on a stylish tee or a tunic if boho is your style. The important thing is to keep it chic. One of our personal favorites is the boyfriend tee, an extra long fitted style. It has great shape and covers the trouble spots too!

Step Three: Accessorize! The right jewelery can help elevate any outfit. For an easy Hollywood look go with Fringe Hoop earrings; filled with 14 karat gold pieces and finished with black suede. If necklaces are your go-to pieces we suggest the 14 karat gold filled leatheret in cognac. It adds a splash of color and looks great with jeans and a t-shirt.

Step Four: Don't carry on too much. Take a great handbag plus something small and manageable for your magazines, iPad, or even old fashioned paperbacks. The less weight the more comfort.

Safe travels!

Can You Mix Gold and Silver? Yes! And You Should!

Forget the antiquated rules about gold and silver. The days of your mother's Good Housekeeping guides to fashion are a thing of the past. We're here to tell you that modern style dictates that gold and silver can and should be mixed. In fact many prominent designers are creating mixed-metal pieces as part of their latest lines.

Bangles are a great way to experiment with mixed metals. Hilary Scott, co-lead singer of Lady Antebellum did just that using our Studded Bangle Set. Once you have a bangle-base play around with different styles and genres. Mix it up; vintage, contemporary, boho or beautiful and beachy like Pamé Fresh Water Pearl Wraps.

Looking for inspiration? Look no further than the pages of your favorite magazines. All of us here are guilty of ripping pages out of nail salon magazines when we find ourselves starstruck by great accessories. And of course we are constantly amazed by how celebrities use Pame pieces to compliment their stylish coutour. Take a look at our Shop by Celebrity section, you might just find an idea worth "borrowing."

Speaking of bangles. Speaking of celebrities. Speaking of Pame pieces. Did you see what E! News host Giuliana Rancic did with our Gold 60 Wave Necklace-Bracelet? She wrapped it around her wrist multiple times to achieve a bangle look. Needless to say you can do this with a necklace you already have--gold, silver or both!

Make Jewelry Part of Your Workout Gear

A treadmill isn't a catwalk but that doesn't mean you can't look great while sweating off those extra calories. You picked out the perfect workout outfit, so why not make it a little more perfect by adding great accessories? Here is how to pull off gym chic:

Earrings:
You're looking for studs. Stud earrings are chic and classic and more importantly they won't get caught on anything or distract you by jangling around. If you want to make more of a show our Smokey Quartz Crystal Pave Hoops are light on sway and high on seductiveness.

Bracelets:
Wrap bracelets are the way to go. They have a snug fit allowing you to move and stretch free from skin iterating slippage. Our leatheret wrap bracelets may be just what you need to glam up your exercise routine.

Necklaces:
Plain chain and pendant necklaces are ideal exercise accessories. Stay away from long dangling pieces, the closer to your neckline the better. As an example if you do the plank position in Pilates you pendant shouldn't hang more than an inch or two from your neck. Consider our Marcasite Circle & Black Leather Necklace or Oblong Pave Nugget Necklace.

Rings:
Keep it simple. Stay away from clunky and instead wear smooth bands such as our Pelota Stackable Rings.

Final Suggestions:
Check the care instructions on your jewelry carefully. Moisture can be damaging to many types of accessories. If you're a swimmer stay away from gold and precious gemstones the chlorine can be a killer.

Chic Style Inspired by Sunken Treasure

There is a story behind all of our pieces. And we truly believe that all of our pieces will become a treasured part of your stylish jewelry collection. That said, no other piece in our collection has a backstory to match The Shipwreck Coin Replica.

This beautiful necklace combines a coin with a leather choker. It features pewter with sterling silver and 14kt gold-plate accents. It was inspired by sunken treasure found on the Santa Maria De La Consolacion. And the story of its watery demise is the stuff of adventure novels and summer blockbusters.

In 1681 the Santa Maria De La Consolacion set sail from Peru, against the wishes of her Captain and crew. They knew the waters were crawling with pirates. They knew their chances of reaching Panama and joining the Spanish armada were slim. Of the all the pirates the man they featured most was English buccaneer Captain Bartholomew Sharpe.

Sharpe found the Santa Maria De La Consolation and was determined to strip it of the treasure it held; gold, silver and precious gems mined in Peru. Sharpe gave chase with the aid of many ships but the Santa Maria was faster. She out ran the pirates and off the coast of Santa Clara island the crew set her ablaze determined to keep the treasure out of the pirates hands.

Robbed of their loot the pirates murdered everyone aboard, an attack so bloody that to this day Santa Clara island is known as La Isla de Muerte: island of death.

How could you not feel brave and adventurous wearing something with so much history? And its versatile too. You can pair it with everything from sophisticated chic to boho style.

Aussie Celebrity Jewelry = Awesome

You can add one more gem of a find to our celebrity jewelry photo collection! Australian actress Abbie Cornish sported our brass oxidized Pave' Nugget necklace in a CNN interview where she discussed her role in "The Girl."

This coated pewter pendant is perfect for the hot lights of a TV or movie studio. Hung on a gold plated chain and encrusted with tiny pave crystals it catches the light and draws attention to the neckline. The blend of materials makes it eye-catching without being gaudy. Though it works with just about any outfit we think it worked particularly well with Abbie's dark blazer and top.

Boho Style According to Pinterest

Boho style is by its very nature eclectic, which makes Pinterest an excellent source of style inspiration. Trend setters from across the country and across the globe are pinning their chic and original ideas daily. Susan Engle's pinboard is the perfect jumping off point for your boho search. As you scroll down Susan's board you will find a few common denominators in this style trend that seems to be without rules.

The only thing better than a long necklace is a longer necklace
If you can start a double Dutch jump rope session with your necklace you might be a boho. Use your your longest necklace as a foundation and layer on shorter necklaces. Pick something that will swing while you strut; beaded, pendant and chain necklaces are all great choices.

Make your bangles and cuffs sing
You're a storyteller. You talk with your hands. And when you do, because you're boho, all those bracelets cling-clang together banging out the soundtrack to your exciting life. Layer and let the world hear it!

Nothing says organic like leather and feathers
Cold materials like shiny metal and dark beads need to be off-set with something more organic. Leather suggests that you're down to earth not an up in the clouds socialite. And the colorful plumage of feathers show that you aren't afraid to preen. Also consider seashells to give your look an element of water.

Keep your digits a mystery
Add additional rings to add an air of mystery. A ring on every finger makes you a wild card and a girl who can flirt (just a little!). Every semi-precious stone has a unique meaning so choose carefully when choosing your story.

Jewelry Design Guide: Earring Styles

Identifying the four basic earring types is easy. Identifying when to wear them can be a bit more tricky. Here is a breakdown:

earringsStud: Stud earrings are the skeleton key of accessories, they always work. You can wear stud earrings with a choker or a classic strand of pearls. Consider semi-precious stones by day and diamonds by night.

Celebrity JewelryDrop: This style is designed to accentuate your neck and jaw. Pull your hair up and show off your beautiful earrings. Drops may move a bit, but most stay stationary. Consider bright colors and eye-catching patterns like those found in our Green Beryl Drop Earrings.

Celebrity JewelryHoop: In terms of both functionality and style, size matters. Smaller hoops that sit snug against the ear are perfect for active wear. Larger hoops work well when your hair is let down and let loose for a night out. You may also be able to pull off larger hoops if you have short hair, so long as your head doesn't look smaller because of them. Consider experimenting with oblong hoops. Check out our Green Opal Pave Hoops or our Hammered Hoop with Grey Suede.

Dangle: Dangle earrings are attention grabbers, both for their length and the way they move. Tons of fun to wear dangles can reach down almost to the shoulder. Consider leather fringe or beaded hoops for daytime and crystal encrusted or gold filigree at night.

People Magazine says Pepper Potts is the Prettiest!

People Magazine recently named Gwyneth Paltrow its annual "Most Beautiful Woman in the World." If you've ever looked through our celebrity jewelry collection, you know that Mrs. Chris Martin has amazing taste in accessories. Accessories that she uses to accent a daring sense of style.

For the world premiere of Iron Man 3 the blonde beauty stole the spotlight with a white front, navy back, sideless stunner of a dress. Never one to shy away from a revealing design by Antonio Berardi, Gwyneth added another highlight to her fashion icon resume.

Highlight or lowlight? As with any fashion risk it depends on who you ask. Many fashion reporters are applauding her latest choice while "Go Fug Yourself" is naturally roundly panning it because that is what they do.

While the dress has gotten all the attention, Gwyneth did not step onto the red carpet without her accessories. We were particularly impressed with the white gold and diamond ring she wore on her left hand. And then there were the asymmetrical earrings. One ear featured a stud and the other a cascading floral chandelier. The two contrasting items matched in terms of materials and color. Added to which Gwyneth used her long hair to help partially obscure the longer earring.

As always we are looking forward to seeing what Gwyneth comes up with next!

Gold Bar Ring: Classic and Classy

Precious gems and pearls are the centerpiece of most jewelry with gold holding them in their exalted place--a humble servant. Strange considering that for as long as people have collected beautiful things gold has been the most desired of substances.

Our gold bar ring raises the world's most desired precious metal back to its rightful place. Featuring a tiny gold ingot that will stand out without being bulky or clunky, this Pame Design original is the perfect way to add a flash of gold to any outfit. To make it even more special we gave it a wrap of pave crystals the color of amber topaz that accent it like a little tiara.

Despite its grand dame status this ring is no diva. Slip on other pieces for a one-two punch!

The Right Resort Jewelry for Any Resort You Choose

Since you started planning your resort vacation you've had dreams about the pool, the spa and the big colorful drinks. You've also had nightmares about what to pack. An outfit for every situation just isn't possible, at least not within the laws of physics. So before you start jumping up and down on your suitcase consider your accessories. The right accessories can reduce the number of outfits you need to bring. By mixing and matching jewelry you can completely change your look.

For instance our Triple Tahitian Wrap necklace can be worn poolside for evening cocktails or switched to a bracelet for a day on the links. Our Pelota Stackable Rings can be worn on a chain as a pendant. Or if you are feeling adventurous you can layer several necklaces to create a new look with the same pieces.

Which Resort Style Jewelry Should Make the Final Cut:

  • Choose items that are well made with sturdy clasps. You don't want to lose a cherished piece far from home.
  • Be sure to pack uncomplicated pieces as well, smooth cuff bracelets, stud earrings and simple necklaces you can wear during physical activities. If you're looking for the right go anywhere accessory our Faux Bois Wave Bangle Set is just the thing.
  • For casual daytime wear at a resort leather and stones are always preferable. Try artistic pieces that show your creative side. And if you wear a lot of white linen or other neutral tones add color with your jewelry. Our Crushed Cuff with Green Moss Agate is ideal for adding a splash of color.
  • Stick to the theme of the resort, tailor the jewelry for Maui to Maui and Aspen to Aspen.
  • Gold and pearls are classics for a reason. Treat them with care and remember to have high-priced items placed in the resort safe.
Finally, choose at least one piece that would be too gaudy or unusual for your day-to-day style. Vacation is the perfect time to step outside of your comfort zone and try fun resort jewelry. Who knows you may discover a whole new side of yourself. For more result style inspiration check out our Beachy Resort Jewelry & Style board on Pintrest. Montauk Pebble Necklace: A Claspable Memory

A picture can trigger memories, but it can't remind you of the texture, the feel of a place. Pame beach jewelry provides wonderful sensory reminders of the world's most reknowned coastlines.

Our Montauk Pebble Necklace shines like a lighthouse on rocky shores drawing attention to a trio of naturally contoured nuggets that link the necklace to its beautiful namesake. It is a casually chic piece that can be worn with jeans and a linen tunic top or with an airy summer frock.

What we love about Montauk
It's not miles and miles of white sand and azure water. We love those beaches too. But sometimes we want a rugged adventurous beach, a beach you can stroll wearing a warm sweater on a windy autumn day. Here is how the U.S. Geological Survey describes Montauk: "A walk along the beach provides an opportunity to examine a wide assortment of rock types in the beautifully wave-polished boulders and cobbles on the beach. Rocks consist of granite, gneiss, schist, and quartzite derived from the New England Highlands region.”
A Bit of Beach to Clasp and Unclasp
The Montauk beaches are very popular with rock collectors who use the unique local stones to create scultures or to use as souvenirs in their homes and gardens. We wanted to capture the essence of Montauk and that special memory spark that can only come from the texture of a place. It’s our version of “Take only memories, leave nothing but footprints.”

Jewelry Query: If you take a pewter pebble and dip it in gold, does that make it a precious “stone”? Discuss in the comments!

Style from Tatyana Ali

Tatyana Ali is most known for playing Ashley Banks on the “Fresh Prince of Bel Air” as a child actress, but there is nothing childish about her style! She will be starring in “second Generation Wayans,” a new BET show that will feature the Wayans’ Brothers and Nephews. At the premier of “Real Husbands of Hollywood” Ali was looking chic with her shape-skimmed LDB and her Pame Aspen Cuff with Studded Leather.

This Harvard educated actress looked classy sporting the perfect chic jewelry style for any look. We also love Ali’s off-the-cuff remarks she made with Huffington Post in a recent interview. She revealed that she cries three times as day as a part of her workout routine.

While strange and probably not our workout of choice, we cry with delight when we see her sporting fabulous Pame jewelry!

Look Chic While Traveling in Four Easy Steps

You are in your work out gear, struggling and fumbling through your pockets, bags, and purse to find your boarding pace. Your bags feel heavier than a grand piano and weigh you down as you approach the gate. Arriving with little time and breathe to spare, you barely caught your flight. The woman in front of you is collected and calm. Her hair is pulled back into a sleek pony tail with perfect make up. She has a Louis Vuitton bag and perfectly place jewelry. You are shocked because it took everything to arrive before the gate closed. How did she do it? Well, we’ve got a few simple bits of advice that will help you elevate your travel look.

Recently Gwyneth Paltrow was spotted at LAX sporting one of our jewelry designs, and she is the perfect example as how to look chic while traveling.

Step 1: Take a lesson from Gwyneth and lose the workout gear. There is no need to be too overdressed to look stylish and put together. Jeans are a great start, pick your favorite pair, just as Gwyneth did. You don’t want your jeans to be too tight so that you can fly in style and be comfortable.

Step 2: With Jeans as the foundation of your outfit, top it off with a stylish tee or tunic. The key is to keep it chic with a more fitted cut. One of our favorite looks is the boyfriend tee. It is extra long but has a fitted style. It gives a great shape and covers all the key trouble spots while remaining comfortable.

Step 3: Pick some of your favorite jewelry designs and add them to the mix. You don’t want to get too fancy, depending on where you are traveling to, but some perfectly placed bling can help elevate the most basic outfits. For an easy look with that Hollywood feel, try the Fringe Hoop earrings. The 14k gold hoops and stands of black suede it’s finished with work glamorously and are effortless. If you prefer necklaces we love the 14 KT Gold-Filled Leatheret in cognac, for a pop of color. It will look great with any denim and shirt combo.

Step 4: Try to travel with only one great carry on. If you have too much stuff, it creates headaches and some serious hustle to make up for time. Use Gwyneth as an example and only take one handbag and one stylish carry-on. This should be able to hold everything from your books to magazines, and even an iPad. Enjoy your travels looking savvy! Bon Voyage!
